Benefits of Honey

A sweet food made from the nectar of flowers by the bees is called as Honey. A substance that is not only known for its sweetness but also for its multiple health benefits since ancient times. What so great about this liquid? Here are few of many benefits of Honey.

For Energy
Honey also provides carbohydrates to fuel our bodies during exercise.  Athletes often employ honey to relieve muscle fatigue.  Our bodies absorb the glucose in honey quickly, which becomes an instant energy boost.  This means a small spoonful of honey taken before going for a run may take you the extra mile.  Instead of coffee, try tea with honey to both calm your senses and give you just as much caffeine as coffee with the added benefits of honey to get your morning going.

For Cuts and Burns

Yoga has transformed in western culture from its original purpose: as a spiritual practice in Hinduism. Here in the United States, it is used more to relax the body and mind, stretch the muscles, and enhance meditative practices.The rise in popularity of Yoga in the West seems due to the medical aspect. Most yoga classes are a mixture of physical exercises, breathing exercises, and meditation.These three things are what make yoga very beneficial exercise for people with health conditions, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, and back conditions.

Studies have shown yoga helps people of all ages who have heart problems. It seems to regulate heart health in many ways, including controlling high blood pressure and improving resistance and reaction to stress.

Benefits of Being a Vegan

Today we have Evelyn Parham as our guest blogger.  She is the author of Becoming a Healthier You, where she writes about healthy living, vegan and blogging topics.

Whenever anyone inquires about my diet, the first question is “how do you do it and what do you eat.”  I answer them by telling them it is a way of life for me and I just do it.  I also eat a vegan diet for health reasons and I have noticed some awesome benefits from doing so.

What is a vegan diet?

A vegan diet is derived from fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds and other wholesome non-animal products.

A vegan diet is not boring.  There are so many new foods and recipes that you can try.  I promise that you will not be bored eating a vegan diet.

The great thing about eating a vegan diet is that you will cut out all the processed foods and focus on eating whole foods.  It is always a good plan to focus on eating whole foods.

Below are some benefits that you can expect when you adopt a vegan diet:

  • Healthy Weight Loss
You will notice that you will begin slimming down.  Almost effortlessly!  The reason for this is because a vegan diet is not high in fat and cholesterol.  You will lose weight in a healthy manner, all while giving your body wholesome foods.
  • Clearer Skin
Who doesn’t want clear skin?  You will notice that your skin will have less break outs and that you have a healthy glow.  Ladies, there is almost no need to wear make-up, because your skin will glow naturally.
  • Better Digestion
You notice that you are less bloated and that you have regular elimination.  You will hardly ever have problems with constipation and you will not feel sleepy after eating a vegan meal.
  • Try New Foods
Eating a vegan diet doesn’t have to be boring.  You can actually have fun trying new foods.  There are so many different foods that you can try.  The next time you go to a Farmers Market, pay attention to the variety of foods that are available.


Eating a vegan diet isn’t for everyone.  If you are curious about eating a vegan diet, try eating a few vegan meals a week.  Even if you never become a vegan, after eating a few vegan meals a few times a week, you will feel healthier and have more energy.

5 Poses to Reduce Anxiety and Panic Attack.

Christmas is around the corner and yes we all are getting ready for that big day. Well even though it is a festival to have fun, enjoy the great time with our friend and family. But still for many of us this is the biggest time of the year for anxiety and panic attacks do you know. It’s nothing to do with work, but it’s all about cooking, buying presents and all those things that comes with families. Here in this article we would see 5 different yoga poses to reduce anxiety and panic attacks.

Yoga and Anxiety Disorder & Panic Attacks
  1. Forward Bend (Padangustasana): Here is a pose that really helps a lot to calm one’s mind. The whole idea of dropping the head down towards mother earth makes the heart to push more blood towards the brain. A feel of rejuvenation can be achieved anywhere you do this pose.   2. Downward Dog Pose (Adho Mukha Svasana) Have you seen a dog stretch, well this pose is something that he would follow.   3. Neck Roll: Well the first think that would affect our body when we get tensed, panic attacks, anxiety would be our neck region. Neck roll is something that can be done easily again anywhere and anytime. Rolling our neck releases the tension at the muscles.   4. Corpse Pose (Shavasana) Well do you think a corpse would have any emotions. No …. well this is a pose which is so perfect for conditions like anxiety do not you think. Anxiety and panic attacks is just because we would like to be in control. That is human nature, and here is the pose that helps you let to lose that control and let it be in a moment.   5. Deep Breathing (Pranayama) Deep breathing has multiple benefits and one major benefit it to relax our body both physically and mentally. It is simple mechanism where body calms itself due to extra flow of oxygen. Anxiety brings tension all over the body creating constriction of all vessels, which in due course makes our breath shallow. Deep breathing changes that completely relaxing us.
